After PFX launched its Nero a few weeks ago, it’s now the turn of Italian brand Cornerstone to launch its new pedal inspired by the famous Roman emperor: the Nero Fuzz .
What is the Nero Fuzz?
At the heart of the Nero Fuzz is an original fuzz circuit, designed to capture the essence of vintage sounds while offering modern versatility. This pedal goes far beyond traditional fuzz by incorporating a built-in Gladio SC, a Dumble-type pre-amp adding some saturation or overdrive, adding warmth and crunch.
The Nero Fuzz gives you total control over your sound. Thanks to its two independent bias controls, you can easily adjust your tone, moving from a rough fuzz to a harmonically rich overdrive. What’s more, the “Comp” knob lets you manage overall compression, offering maximum flexibility for sculpting your sound to your preferences.
What you need to know about the Nero Fuzz :
- Double Circuit: The Nero pedal combines a unique fuzz circuit with an integrated Gladio SC, activating both circuits simultaneously for a superimposed drive effect.
- Compression control: The “Comp” button lets you manage compression, modifying the overall compression for various tones.
- Independent bias controls: Two independent bias controls (“voices”) offer a range of fuzz and overdrive tones.
- Versatility: the Nero offers flexible gain control, maintains a high input impedance for placement anywhere on your pedalboard, and provides a smooth transition from grainy fuzz to full overdrive via a footswitch.
- Two different voices: Voice controls are identical and independent, allowing instant switching from one to the other with a dedicated footswitch.
