Browne AmplificationKansas City-based boutique manufacturer Browne Amplification has made a name for itself with high-quality overdrive pedals, including the Carbon, a variant of the famous Blues Breaker. Now they’re back with a new pedal: the Carbon X Dual Overdrive, the brainchild of American singer-songwriter and guitarist David Ryan Harris .
Because 2 is better than one?!
It’s not just a question of 2 carbons stacked one on top of the other, they’ve completely improved and enriched their concept.
The two circuits have separate footswitches and are stacked on top of each other when both are activated. Each channel has a different sound, the right side being more open and raw than the left, which is more controlled and compressed.
The left channel (the last in the chain) has a 3-position hi-cut switch (with a flat option in the middle), particularly useful when the two circuits overlap.
Other interesting features include soft-switching (a type of switch that minimizes unwanted noise when activating/deactivating the pedal), adjustable start-up status and an internal switch for use with an effects loop.
The result? A pedal that embraces the bluesbreaker spirit while enhancing it, offering more precise and complete control over your sound.

The Carbon X Dual Overdrive is currently available for pre-order, with an estimated shipping date of March 2024. The pedals are hand-assembled in Kansas City, so patience will be required.
