Line 6 has just unveiled the latest addition to its line-up: the POD Express, an ultra-portable effects and amp pedal that lets you take your sound wherever you go.

As its name suggests, the POD Express is a much more compact and easily transportable version of the multi-effects that make up the POD range. It comes in 2 versions: one dedicated to guitarists (red) and the other to bassists (gray), and is equipped with 7 amps, 7 cabinets and 17 effects (including a looper), all accessible via 5 buttons and their alternative functions, without any LED display, which is a real novelty compared to previous PODs.
The amp & cabinet models are Chime, Dynamic, Crunch, Heavy, Lead, Clean, and Special, while there are four effect types for each of the four effect categories : Distortion, Modulation, Delay and Reverb (in that order). The pedal also features a preset system for storing 21 presets.
With stereo outputs, USB-C audio interface (useful for recording with a computer), tuner, tap tempo, noise gate and expression pedal input, POD Express offers advanced connectivity to suit a variety of configurations. It’s worth noting that the pedal doesn’ t come with a power cable, but you can connect a battery (yes, yes, in 2024).
