The new SIX ZERO Vintage Fuzz Trem from Thorpy FX, a tribute tremolo fuzz

ThorpyFX, in collaboration with the famous British store Andertonshas just unveiled a new pedal that promises to delight fans of vintage sounds while offering a nice modern touch: the SIX ZERO Vintage Fuzz Trem.

Created to celebrate Andertons’ 60th anniversary, this pedal is more than just a nod to the 60s. It’s the result of in-depth reflection on what a modern guitar effect could be, while retaining a resolutely vintage soul.

Inspired by the Tone Bender MKI

In homage to the first fuzz pedals of the ’60s, the pedal is inspired by the famous Tone Bender MKI, one of the most iconic fuzz pedals of the era. But rather than using germanium transistors, which are often temperamental and unstable, ThorpyFX has opted for silicon transistors. This technical choice guarantees a sound faithful to the original models, while ensuring greater reliability and stability.

One Fuzz + One tremolo

The main feature of the SIX ZERO is the combination of a fuzz circuit with a tremolo. This duality enables the creation of rich and varied sonic textures, from slight vintage shudders to more extreme soundscapes. The integrated tremolo is based on a circuit originally designed by Dan Coggins, one of the pioneers of guitar effects. With Depth and Rate controls for tremolo, and Attack and Level for fuzz, this pedal offers impressive sonic versatility, adapting to all playing styles and guitar configurations.

A unique design

As with most Thorpy FX pedals, the design of the SIX ZERO is as remarkable as its sound characteristics. The pedal is encased in a black anodized aluminum case, covered in a superb sparkling blue finish, a subtle nod to Andertons’ colors.

Reserved exclusively for the Andertons store, the SIX ZERO is a limited edition of just 200 (they’re already sold out), making it a collector’s item from the outset.

Retail price: €250
