Origin Effects, British manufacturer of high-end pedals, has just announced its new Deluxe55 Tweed Recreation, a pedal that promises to capture all the sonic magic of the legendary 1955 Fender 5E3 Tweed Deluxe.
A faithful reproduction of Tweed Deluxe
With a 100% analog circuit, this new pedal is designed to faithfully reproduce the unique character of the Fender 5E3 Tweed Deluxe, known for its warm, organic tones, from articulate crunch to explosive saturation. Origin Effects set out to capture every nuance of this historic amp by miniaturizing its tube signal path through “ultra-precise transistor engineering”.
The pedal simulates the behavior of a tube amp down to the smallest detail:
- Overdrive from the 6V6 power amp, with natural compression and unique grain.
- Tube rectification, reproducing the “sag” typical of vintage amps.
- Distortion from the cathodyne phase inverter, offering raw, expressive textures.
- Versatile preamp, based on the 12AY7 and 12AX7 valves, for clear, dynamic crunch and fuzz-like saturation.
A pedal designed for all guitarists
Thanks to its Post EQ, this pedal adapts to any type of amp, modeler or even sound system. You’ll find the same Tweed Deluxe grain whether you’re playing through a tube amp or directly into a console.
The Preamp switch toggles between two distinct sound signatures:
- The 12AY7 mode, faithful to the original amp, for clear, detailed sound.
- The 12AX7 mode, with more gain and a more saturated character, ideal for solos or powerful rhythms.
Whether you’re a fan of blues, rock or even country, this pedal offers warm, organic tones that integrate perfectly with a multitude of styles. Its ability to switch between subtle crunch and harmonically rich saturation makes it the tool of choice for guitarists looking to enrich their sound palette with a touch of vintage.
