TAMPCO unveils the Distorter, a distortion pedal designed in collaboration with Nelson Martins, bassist with Skip The Use.
A true texture machine, the Distorter doesn’t just offer a saturated grain, but also an assembly of 3 independent circuits in parallel: a clean boost, a meaty overdrive and a sharp fuzz.

3 parallel circuits
Unlike conventional distortions that stack gain stages, the Distorter works with 3 circuits in parallel. This technical choice makes it possible to sculpt a dynamic, richly nuanced sound:
– Clean Boost : a transparent section that preserves attack and adds definition.
– Low-gain overdrive: a warm yet precise overdrive, perfect for thickening the sound.
– Vintage Fuzz: an aggressive, biting fuzz circuit that cuts through the mix with brilliance.
The combination of these 3 stages strikes the perfect balance between dynamics, sustain and aggressiveness, adapting to a multitude of musical styles. Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Skip The Use… The sounds evoked by the Distorter are immediately reminiscent of bands that have pushed the limits of saturation.
A pedal for guitar and bass
Designed with a bassist in mind, the Distorter can be used for both bass and guitar. Its circuitry faithfully reproduces low frequencies, guaranteeing a punchy attack without sacrificing sound depth. Whether on a passive or active bass, on a clean or slightly crunchy amp, the pedal ensures a natural, balanced response.
