At the start of the new year, there’s no time to lose in excitement over the arrival of a new pedal! MXR gets the ball rolling with its new Joshua Ambient Echo, a delay pedal inspired by studio delays and designed to generate soaring tones reminiscent of U2’s iconic album “The Joshua Tree” (no less!).
A simple yet ultra-customizable pedal!
The MXR Joshua Ambient Echo is carefully tuned to shine right out of the box without requiring much adjustment on your part. However, if you feel the urge for further sonic exploration, this pedal has all the tools you need to shape complex, personalized soundscapes.
At the heart of the MXR Joshua Ambient Echo is an ultra-customizable delay configuration, offering control not only over tempo and number of repeats, but also their rhythm. With the Division control, you can select from subdivisions of quarter note, dotted eighth note, eighth note, eighth note triplet, double delay with dotted eighth note and dotted eighth note. Want your repeats to continue even after you’ve deactivated the pedal? Simply press Trails. Want an even more dynamic sound? The Echo 2 switch adds a secondary set of 1/4-note tempo-set repeats, adjustable via advanced settings. The Mod controladjusts the modulation of the delay signal, offering even richer, more complex textures. The Voice control creates a celestial ambience by manipulating the upper and lower octaves.
This pedal has stereo input and output, and an expression pedal can also be connected.
