The all-new Lupine Dual Fuzz from Flower Pedals combines a fuzz and an octaver in a single box.
Two pedals in one
The Lupine Dual Fuzz combines two pedals in one compact package:
On the left (cream side), we find our fuzz with JFET transistor, controlled by 3 knobs: Input to manage the input level (like a guitar volume potentiometer), Bias to adjust the bias of the circuit’s main gain stage, offering a range from a jerky fuzz to a smooth, heavy distortion, and finally, the Output control adjusts the fuzz’s overall output level.
On the right (purple side), we find an octaver that is no more and no less than an updated version of the Lupine Analog Octave Up (based on the octave circuits of classic vintage octave fuzzes). The Blend control lets you mix your own signal with the octave-up circuit, while the Level control adjusts the output volume. The big news in this version of the Lupine is the Gain control, which lets you adjust the gain in the octave circuit, offering subtle tones right up to strident octaves that will make you want to turn down your tone potentiometer.
This gives you the choice of using the two sides separately, or combining them for unique sounds. The punchy treble of the violet side combines perfectly with the power of the cream side. Both sides work equally well with a bass.
Thanks to 2 separate inputs and outputs, you can place these 2 effects in different places in your pedal chain!
Please note: if you prefer to use the pedal as a fuzz only with an octave option, you can switch to “single fuzz” mode by holding down both footswitches at start-up.
The Lupine operates on a negative-polarity 9 to 18 V supply, requiring less than 100 mA.
