Earthquaker Devices launches its “Blumes” bass overdrive

EarthQuaker Devices has unveiled its latest creation, the “Blumes® Low Signal Shredder” pedal. The Blumes is a totally analog overdrive pedal, inspired by the existing “Plumes” and dedicated to bassists.

The Blumes takes its inspiration from the classic Tube screamer while developing a distinct sonic identity. Offering double the gain of the beloved Plumes Small Signal Shredder, this pedal features a deeper low-frequency response, preserving the full richness of the sound spectrum.

The Blumes controls offer great versatility. The gain control lets you modulate the intensity of distortion, while the tone control adjusts bass, midrange and treble to your preference. Output level is managed by the level control. The pedal also features three clipping modes selectable via a three-position toggle switch:

1. Symmetrical LED clipping: Offers more crunch and compression, ideal for a saturated, punchy sound.
2. No clipping: A clean OP-amp drive for a clear boost, perfect when the gain control is set below noon.
3. Asymmetrical silicon diode clipping: Provides a warm low-frequency response with transparent clarity, offering smoother but compressed distortion.
