Dolmen Effects presents the JCR, an effects pedal born of a collaboration with French guitarist Jean-Claude Rapin, who has collaborated and played with such greats as Jimmy Page, Santana, Slash, Robert Plant, Jeff Beck, Eddy Mitchell, Maxime Le Forestier… This new creation represents the deluxe evolution of the Jeanne Reizh pedal, incorporating a redesigned “hot” mode and a clean boost.
Inspired by the classic pedals Jan Ray by Vemuram and Timmy by Paul Cochrane, the Jeanne Reizh blends these influences with the distinctive addition of Germanium for a unique sound experience.
The JCR offers great overdrive versatility with its “Smooth” and “Rough” switch. In “Smooth” mode, it offers a Fender Blackface sound, switching from a transparent boost to a bluesy crunch. In “Rough” mode, a modified Marshallian distortion stage enriches the circuit, offering saturated tones with marked compression and rich harmonics. In addition to the overdrive channel inherited from the Jeanne, the JCR features a clean boost adapted to Jean-Claude Rapin’s playing.
