The Chase Bliss brand is back with an improved version of Condor! The Condor HiFi Analog Tone Bird is an all-in-one EQ pedal that combines equalizer, filter and overdrive, offering an infinite sonic palette for sculpting your basic tone.

The Condor HiFi is actually an enhanced, limited-edition version of the original Condor. Released in 2018, the non-HiFi version of the Condor made its mark with its ultra-tunable 3-band equalizer and parametric midrange. Three years later, Chase Bliss relaunches the Condor with improved components, offering an even richer sound experience.

Technical improvements

The Condor HiFi retains the versatility of its predecessor while introducing significant sonic improvements. A new, more powerful power supply, borrowed from the Automatone Preamp MkII preamplifier from the same brand, is combined with improved operational amplifiers, the OPA1662 from Texas Instruments. This combination offers 3-band equalization with greater headroom, enhanced sonic fidelity, reduced noise and a different clipping character.

The brand is also offering an option for owners of the original version, with an upgrade priced at just $49i, enabling them to enjoy the new sonic features without investing in a new pedal.

Also note that if you want to use this pedal for EQ and filtering, the HiFi version is a really good option, but if you’re using it more as a boost/light overdrive, the original version can do the job just fine!
