Beetronics presents its new can of tuna… pedal: the Tuna Fuzz

The Beetronics FX brand has struck again with the release of its latest creation: the Tuna Fuzz.

can of tuna fuzz guitar pedal

In a market where the creativity of manufacturers is as much about sound quality as design, the Californian brand gives a nostalgic nod to its beginnings while offering an affordable fuzz pedal full of character.

The most remarkable? Its tuna-can-shaped case is a return to Beetronics’ artisan origins. But don’t be fooled by the original packaging, because inside lies a fearsome vintage-sounding fuzz.

A quirky design inspired by the brand’s history

The history of Beetronics is tinged with creativity and DIY tricks. In the early days, brand founder Filipe Pampuri recycled tuna cans to build his first pedals. It was an economical solution that, over time, has contributed to Beetronics’ unique, artisanal image. The Tuna Fuzz pays homage to this era while adapting to the modern needs of guitarists.

The pedal is housed in a metal tuna can, reinforcing the brand’s visual identity and immediately drawing attention to your pedalboard. This approach is a reminder that, at Beetronics, originality doesn’t stop at sound: visuals play a key role in the overall experience.

Simplicity and efficiency

Behind its playful looks, the Tuna Fuzz stands out for its disconcerting simplicity. Equipped with a single control knob, the famous “Stinker”, it lets you manage the output volume. This minimalist choice is ideal for guitarists who want to concentrate on their playing while enjoying an authentic fuzz effect. The fuzz level, meanwhile, can be adjusted directly via your guitar’s volume, giving a varied sonic palette from subtle saturation to intense roar.

Inside, a bee-shaped circuit board, nicknamed Tunabee, is visible through a transparent rear cover, a Beetronics visual signature that perfectly combines functionality and aesthetics.

Vintage fuzz

The Tuna Fuzz draws its inspiration from the best vintage fuzz. It offers a rich, dynamic sound full of character, reminiscent of the heyday of fuzz effects in the 60s and 70s.
