Hard to miss… Summer 2025 marks the return of OASIS with a much-anticipated tour.
Noel Gallagher, the band’s guitarist and singer, kindly posted a photo a few days ago of the pedalboard he’s using on this new tour. A rare gesture at this level – and a godsend for all those who like to dissect his gear!
In this article, we take a look at all the equipment he uses to achieve that mythical, recognizable sound! So, are you ready to become a Rock ‘n’ Roll Star too? 😉
Noel’s pedalboard in detail
Noel Gallaher said in a 2023 interview for That Pedal Show “I don’t even need a pedalboard, I don’t know why I’ve got one – but I have got one”, but when we see a photo of his today, we think he’s certainly changed his mind!

From left to right:
3 ZVEX Lo-Fi Loop Junky

No less than 3 copies identified, each assigned to a different song (D’You Know What I Mean?, Champagne Supernova, Rock ‘n’ Roll Star), probably with slightly different settings. It’s a gritty analog looper : brutal compression, natural distortion, retro lo-fi ambience. Ideal for textured intros or effects.
Boss RV-3 Digital Reverb + Delay

Pedal combining delay and reverb, often in “Hall + Delay” mode. Very present in 90s Oasis rig. Perfect for broad ambiences , as on Champagne Supernova, Stand By Me, Slide Away.
Empress Effects Echosystem

High-end multi-delay, capable of reverse, filters and modulations. Versatile and precise, it can be used to add sophisticated textures to song intros or codas. It’s hard to say on which track this pedal might be used, but it’s easy to imagine it being used in a very specific and precise way.
SIB Echodrive (blue pedal)

Analog 12AX7 tube delay, often used as an always-on preamp (as can be seen from the 3 knobs on the right, all set to 0, and the delay control on the top right, also set to 0). It brings grain, warmth and natural compression, making it one of Noel’s signature sounds on stage.
Please note that, as indicated by the yellow “117v” label, this pedal operates on 120 volts alternating current (AC), as is the case on the North American grid.
Strymon El Capistan
We already knew that Noel really likes this brand: “One thing I love about this Strymon stuff … I fucking love a preset … I can’t be arsed getting my own sounds…” (“One thing I love about this Strymon stuff … I fucking love a preset … I can’t be arsed getting my own sounds…”).
La Strymon El Capistan is a high-end delay pedal that faithfully simulates vintage tape echoes, such as the Maestro Echoplex or Roland Space Echo. Noel uses it as a warm, organic tape echo. Perfect for 90s Oasis vibes like Supersonic or Fade In-Out.
This pedal offers 3 main modes (Fixed, Multi, Single Head) each with 3 variations, for a total of 9 modulable delay types. It faithfully reproduces tape delays, but also their imperfections: velocity modulation, wear, “wow & flutter”… Details that give a lively, organic character to the sound. All digital, but extremely warm to the ear.
TC Electronic Polytune 3

Compact, reliable and precise chromatic tuner. Allows quick tuning changes between songs, with highly legible LED display. A classic of its kind, it’s no surprise to see it on this type of pedalboard.
Boss DD-3 – Digital delay
Simple, effective digital delay. Set at around 800 ms, it is used on Wonderwall, Stand By Me and other iconic tracks with a clear, straight echo.
Pete Cornish SS-2 Soft Sustainer

A high-end, low-gain overdrive designed for leads, Noel uses it as a transparent boost for his solos. It brings sustain and clarity, often used on Live Forever, Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, activated via a dedicated switch (“SOLO” on the switcher).
Strymon Timeline
The Strymon Timeline is a professional delay pedal offering exceptional sonic finesse and flexibility. With over 200 presets, it offers a wide range of high-quality digital delays: single, multitap, reverse, glitch, filters, looping… each setting can be modified via tap tempo, tempo-lock or MIDI controllers.
It excels at creating rhythmic textures, modulated or spatial delays. Used by Noel on stage to bring variations of delay to different tracks.
Noel Gallagher regularly mentions it as a key pedal in his rig: “I did buy a new pedal that I like a lot: it’s a Strymon Timeline delay, and it’s fucking amazing. The thing’s got, like, 200 presets… I’ve got two!” (“j’ai acheté une nouvelle pédale que j’aime beaucoup: c’est un Strymon TimeLine delay, et c’est incroyablement cool. This thing has like 200 presets, I’ve even bought 2” – Noel Gallagher, MusicRadar interview (2023).
BSM Model OR Treble Booster

Inspired by the legendary Orange Power Boost of the ’70s, the BSM OR is a boutique treble booster that accentuates the midrange and gives riffs bite. Noel uses it to thicken the signal before the amp, particularly on powerful tracks like Cigarettes & Alcohol or Columbia.
Very rare and little modified, this pedal gives it thecrunchy sound and vintage British grain typical of the glam and early punk years.
Keeley Compressor Plus
Highly respected for its transparency and blend control, the Keeley Compressor Plus allows Noel to smooth attacks without crushing dynamics. It’s probably always left activated on his pedalboard to bring coherence and punch, especially in clean or light crunch – ideal on tracks like Wonderwall or Don’t Look Back in Anger.
Kingsley Page Tube Boost

This 12AX7 tube boost, handmade in Canada, is a Noel favorite. The Kingsley Page warms up the signal with a light, natural compression and smooth saturation typical of tube preamps. It’s used to thicken the sound upstream of the amp, especially on dynamic passages or to flesh out riffs on tracks like Morning Glory.
Dunlop Cry Baby Mini Wah

A compact version of the famous Cry Baby, this wah retains all the classic range of expression in a reduced format. Noel uses it for his expressive solos, particularly on Hello, D’You Know What I Mean? and Bring It On Down. Its minimal footprint makes it perfect for fitting onto a large touring pedalboard without compromise.
The switcher / routing system
Noel uses a programmable switcher (RJM or TheGigRig type) to activate/deactivate pedals via presets in a much simpler way. This eliminates the need to dance around on your pedalboard, and keeps the signal chain clean, with only the necessary pedals engaged for each song.
Amplifiers & backline
Noel has also posted a second photo showing 2 Marshall SV20C combos and 2 Hiwatt Custom 50s. And yes, there are still some artists out there playing with good old-fashioned tube amps! 🙂

In a nutshell
Lots of delay and reverb in his setup, allowing Noel Gallagher to cover the whole of Oasis’ discography – from the raw riffs of the 90s to the more ethereal, ambient ambiences of his recent projects.
The basis of his sound is sculpted by his tube amps, the SIB Echodrive (used as a preamp), and the Keeley Compressor Plus, both probably always on.
The 2025 pedalboard combines affordable effects (Boss, TC Electronic, Keeley) with ultra-sophisticated boutique effects (BSM, SIB, Pete Cornish, ZVEX).
Each pedal has a precise function: boost, sustain, multitap delay, lo-fi texture, modulation… All controlled by a switcher, with privileged presets, as Noel assumes he prefers to borrow settings designed by others rather than create them himself.
The result is a rig that’s pragmatic, expressive and true to its sound identity – modest in appearance, but formidably effective on stage.
