In mid-October 2026, JHS unveiled the Wanderer<\/strong>, a dual overdrive pedal that combines two of the Kansas City-based brand\u2019s most popular pedals: the Bluesbreaker-inspired Morning Glory V4<\/strong> and the NOTAKL\u00d6N<\/strong>, its take on the Klon. It\u2019s a combination that many guitarists were already using on their pedalboards, and one that JHS bills as \u201cthe ultimate overdrive.\u201d Let\u2019s take a look at what it offers, who it\u2019s designed for, its price, and the alternatives.<\/p>\n\n

What’s<\/strong> New with the Wanderer<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n

On paper, the Wanderer looks like many other dual overdrive pedals. Its real strength lies in its flexible routing<\/strong>. An \u201cOrder\u201d<\/strong> switch lets you choose which circuit goes first: NOTAKL\u00d6N into the Morning Glory, or vice versa. Most importantly, each side has its own input and output jacks<\/strong>, located on the top of the unit. So you can slip another effect between the two overdrives, place them at two different points in your signal chain, or connect them to two loops on a pedalboard switcher<\/a>. For a simple setup, just two cables\u2014one into the first input and one out of the last output\u2014are all you need.<\/p>\n\n

Another great feature: two Red Remote<\/strong> jacks let you control the gain modes of both circuits with your foot using JHS\u2019s small auxiliary pedal (sold separately). This gives you four gain levels<\/strong> without having to lean over the pedalboard. According to Guitar World, Josh Scott, the founder of JHS, uses the NOTAKL\u00d6N on top of the Morning Glory for his rhythm parts and the Red Remote for his solos.<\/p>\n\n
